Safestyle surveys customer feedback

Having won the G06 Best Customer Care Award and the G07 Installers of the Year Award and set up our website Customer Reviews section, we’ve been keen to get even more feedback from our customers to help improve our products and service.

We appreciate the value of customer feedback so whenever we’re asked for a free quotation, we also give our website visitors the option of completing a very quick and easy survey to glean some indication of their views and what’s important to them. The survey has been completed on average 1 in every 5 times that a quotation is requested, and we’ve found the results during 2008 so far have been interesting.

We’ve seen that around two thirds of survey respondents came to our website primarily for a quotation, while the remaining mainly wanted information, and that’s along similar lines of our belief that many people use our site as an information source as well as providing them with a quote.

When asked the main reasons for looking for replacement double glazing, the main response was “My windows and doors are old and need replacing”, followed by “To improve the appearance of my home”, “To save money on heating bills” and “To increase security and safety”.

Many people we surveyed had actually lived in their home for 5-10 years, while a significant proportion less than 6 months, so it seems that people are looking to improve their homes regardless of the amount of time they’ve lived in them.

We’ve found satisfaction in the fact that the majority of visitors found what they wanted on the website straight away, with nearly half thinking our site “looked great”, while a smaller but significant section thought looks were not important but rather they get what they wanted from their Safestyle web experience.

It was interesting to see that many people look for quotes online and sometimes already have one or more quotes from other companies, which shows that in this day and age of the internet that people are being intelligent with their research and want to make the right decision when making an investment in something as important and impacting as energy saving windows and doors. We’re proud that we can always say with huge confidence that we will beat any genuine like-for-like quote!

The main reason cited by visitors wanting a quote from Safestyle UK was overwhelmingly our distinctive advertising, followed by the influential factor of Safestyle being a big, national company, and also that we do great offers (who could ever forget our “BOGOF” campaigns!).

When quizzed on which factors most influence their choice of double glazing supplier, the biggest percentage – around a third – of survey respondents stated that “price” was the most crucial factor influencing them (again our pledge to beat any genuine quote is vital here), as you would expect in the current economic climate, while “product quality” followed a close second, well ahead of the next main reason which was “customer service”. “Reputation” is currently a small but influential factor and we’re hoping that all our efforts to improve products and customer care will mean many more people recommending Safestyle UK to their friends and relatives.

Speaking of which, over 95% of respondents said they would or might recommend us to their friends – an endorsement there which we’re very happy to hear – and we’re doing all we can to improve our uPVC products and double glazing services to make sure everyone will want to recommend us!
