Children’s charity NSPCC get boost from Safestyle
Double Glazing specialists we may be at Safestyle, but we’re also keen to put something back into our communities. We reported recently about the fantastic fund-raising events that were organised to help raise money for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), in which our own very-loud-and-proud Window Man Jeff Brown took part, most notably the “wet sponge throwing” event, where he made quite a splash.
Once all the money had been collected in and totalled up, the donation was sent without further delay to the NSPCC, who were naturally very happy to receive the £4,238.82 from Safestyle.
A jubilant Katie Bland, NSPCC's Corporate Manager (North), wrote to us and said: “This is a fantastic amount and please be assured that your support will make a difference in helping us achieve our aim of ending child cruelty.”
As the UK’s leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children, the NSPCC have been directly involved with helping children and campaigning on their behalf for some 120 years, covering the UK and Channel Islands, and helping more than 10,000 children and their families every year.
“We rely on over 80% of our income from voluntary donations,” Katie told Safestyle, “Which is why your support is so vital in enabling us to deliver services to children and their families in your community.” The NSPCC run public education campaigns to increase awareness and understanding about child abuse and also operate a free 24-hour helpline, providing help and advice to support anyone concerned about children and young people.
Katie was appreciative of Safestyle’s rallying to her cause, and our support has meant that more help can be given to more children. “Please be immensely proud of the fact there are children who, due directly to your support, can now look forward to brighter futures without the fear of neglect or abuse."
