Local MP praises Safestyle Manufacturing training success

In our continuing quest to improve our double glazing products and customer service as part of the long-term company vision, training has become increasingly important. The plans for the future include training, testing and qualifications for our installers, surveyors and customer service staff, amongst others.

Our Safestyle manufacturing facility in Barnsley is also a key part of the standards improvement drive and this week Barnsley MP Jeff Ennis was on hand to present a group of our employees with their new qualifications. Mr Ennis presented NVQ level 2 Certificates achieved in glass processing to a further 40 employees, and ILM Level 2 Certificates in Team Leading to a another five individuals at Windowstyle.

Presenting the successful employees with their certificates and a bottle of champagne, Jeff Ennis MP commented, “I was very impressed with both the workforce and management who are looking to the future in very difficult circumstances, but, I have no doubt whatsoever that they will succeed.“

This presentation by Jeff Ennis follows previous presentations to a total of 160 employees at Windowstyle who have already completed and achieved their NVQ Level 2 in Glass Processing.

Mark Scaife, Operations Director, explained “Manufacturing is all about continual improvement and to achieve this we need to invest both in our people and plant. Over the past few years, we have done just that, making the factory more efficient and productive whilst remembering the need to train all our workers. Employees remain our number one asset and we are extremely proud that we now have 160 that are NVQ qualified.”
