Safestyle opens new Centre of Excellence training academy
Tuesday was a milestone for Safestyle UK as our new national training academy, the Safestyle Centre of Excellence, was officially opened. The academy aims to raise the standards of installation, survey and service through state-of-the-art training facilities and on-the-job simulation tools.
Present at this historic event, which took place in our Birmingham (Minworth) installations depot building, was Safestyle Managing Director Steve Birmingham and Ian Chisholm, the Deputy Chief Executive of the Glass & Glazing Federation, including representatives from various organisations and companies, such as Neil Robinson, Industry Champion of Proskills, Alan Davies from Easi-dec, Robbie Alan from Lobo Systems, amongst others.
Famous TV personality Jeff Brown, the Safestyle Window Man, also joined the congregation to witness the grand opening of the fabulous new facilities. A bottle of champagne was swung to burst on the walls, and the official ribbon was cut amidst flashes of camera bulbs. The academy comprises real-life authentic building scenarios such as bay windows, dormers, and realistic set-ups for living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom have been built. Here our installers, surveyors and service engineers can come and learn new skills relating to the replacement of windows and doors, and the installation of our products.
One of the aims of the new Centre of Excellence is that new installers, surveyors and engineers will be tested and assessed before being allowed to work out in the field. The added benefit will be the facility to gain new qualifications, including NVQ Level 2, to further raise the benchmark standards of the Safestyle workforce, and deliver a higher quality of service and greater satisfaction for all our customers.
